Photo Shop

By Maryanne Murray Buechner

These days there's almost nothing you can't adorn with a shot of your child's smiling face. Many websites that store, share and print digital photos are in the business of putting your favorite images on clothing, accessories and collectibles, with surprisingly high-quality results. Here's a look at the best new products, plus a comparison of the four most popular sites as they stacked up in our side-by-side print test. --By Maryanne Murray Buechner

Picture Superstore

Snapfish.com boasts a selection of about 80 your-image-here products, including $25 neckties, $60 diaper bags and $20 teddy bears (the picture goes on the bear's hoodie). Images are laser-printed on most items. The stainless-steel commuter mug, $16, is dishwasher safe, and the $15 baby onesie is 100% cotton.

Worth 1,000 Bites

Edibles are on the menu at imagestation.com images appear as a sugary glaze on offerings such as chocolate lollipops, which cost $47 a dozen and taste yummy. Warning: some chipping and flaking may occur in transit.

Stamp of Approval

Want real, customized U.S. postage? Upload an image to photostamps.com and see what it would look like on a stamp. A sheet of 20 37-c- adhesives costs $20, including shipping.

Brand-New Bag

Our snapshot looked phenomenal on photoworks.com's otherwise generic white canvas tote bag, $30. Also available: 6-in. ceramic tiles, $16, and 252-piece jigsaw puzzles, $24.

In the Cards

The gift store at kodakgallery.com features coffee-table books bound in linen or leather and other gifts such as playing cards. If you're not satisfied with the results, as with most of these sites, you can request a do-over.
