The Look Of Lace
By Betsy Kroll
High collars at Christian Lacroix, lots of lace at Louis Vuitton--there's no question that Edwardian style is a top trend for fall. And with Miramax's Finding Neverland--about the Edwardian-era playwright J.M. Barrie, who created Peter Pan--opening Oct. 22, the timing is perfect for a return to propriety. Costume designer Alexandra Byrne isn't surprised by the revival on the runways. "That period is meant to be really flattering and feminine," she says. Just don't overdose: a little frill goes a long way. --B.K.
