Forward Spin

By CHRISTOPHER JOHN FARLEY

The dramatic rescue of five skiers in Aspen, Colorado, continues to grab headlines and the attention of producers and agents. How TV might portray the story:

ASPEN'S TWIN PEAKS (ABC): Limited-run series. In the two-hour premiere, a lost skier, played by Kyle MacLachlan, goes for help, leaving his companion (Lara Flynn Boyle) in a cabin with only doughnuts to eat. She spends the next seven episodes hallucinating about a dancing dwarf (Jason Alexander). Directed by Jennifer Lynch.

ASPEN: SAFE UNLESS YOU'RE STUPID (PBS): Documentary on the safety and beauty of the Aspen area. Narrated by Charlton Heston, with major funding by the Tourist Board of Aspen.

SILENT SKI LIFT, DEADLY SKI LIFT (Fox): Movie of the Week. Lost skiers (Shannen Doherty and Susan Lucci) bitterly accuse their expedition guide (Corbin Bernsen) of leading them into the path of an avalanche. The movie reaches its dramatic climax when Bernsen refuses to give Doherty his sleeping bag until she asks for it a third time.
