Father, Son & Canary
In Manhattan, to comfort his only son, widowed Patrolman Joseph McReddy bought a canary to replace the son's pet Chip which had died while the son was at school. The new bird escaped out the window. Father McReddy rushed to the tenement house roof, fell off the fire escape. When son McReddy came home he found his father dead as well as his canary.
