Chamber Meets

In Rome the Chamber of Deputies began its autumn session last week. Since there is no Opposition to Il Duce, proceedings were perfunctory. The Chamber got under way with a series of orations by Orator Mussolini and others upon the topic afforded by His Royal Highness the Duke of Aosta (cousin of King Vittorio Emanuele) who died last Fourth of July.

As the late Duke, in glaring contrast to other members of the Royal Family, was an ardent Fascist, orations in his praise came easy. Next week the Chamber will debate, will later approve the Fascist Budget. Next month Italy's equally well-trained Senate will meet, obey.
