Heads Together

On the heels of President Coolidge and Alphonse ("Scarface Al") Capone (see CRIME), the Executive Council of the American Federation of Labor last week repaired to Miami, Fla. The committeemen put their heads together, bloody but unbowed, to decide what they would ask Politics to do for Labor this year. Time was no object at their sessions and during the week only one major demand was decided upon, that being a demand already outlined at the A. F. of L. Convention last autumn in Los Angeles, namely, for a Volstead Act amendment to permit 2.75% beer.
