Legislative Week

The Senate--

P: Adopted a resolution offered by Senator LaFollette directing the Treasury to give the Senate the facts as to the earnings of anthracite coal companies.

P: Adopted a resolution directing the Interstate Commerce Commission to give the Senate a statement showing the number and cost to the railroads of reports which it requires to be made to it.

P: Adopted a resolution ordering an investigation of the diligence of the Department of Justice in investigation of the Aluminum Co. of America.

P: Passed a bill ordering the sale of a number of obsolete military reservations. (Went to the House.)

P: Discussed whether or not Gerald P. Nye, appointed to the Senate by the Governor of North Dakota, was legally entitled to be seated.

The House--

P: Adopted by a vote of 248 to 27 a resolution creating a joint committee of the Senate and the House to lease Muscle Shoals. (Resolution went to the Senate.)

P: Passed the Treasury and Post Office Departments Appropriation Bill. (Bill went to the Senate.)

P: Began discussion of the Interior Department Supply Bill carrying appropriations of $226,473,000.
