H. Driggs Jr. (Garden City, L. I.). P: At Brookline, Mass., the Massachusetts State title went for the sixth time to aging Francis Ouimet, onetime (1914) national amateur champion, after he established a six-hole lead on youthful Winthrop Hersey (Wellesley) with a 68 in the morning round of their match.
