Javelin Prince

At Phillips Academy, Andover, Mass., Prince David Mdwani of Georgia (a Caucasian republic) learned (some years ago) to throw the javelin and discus. All this he explained to the French Olympic Committee to whom he sent his official entry for the javelin and discus events in this summer's games. "Not," said he, "that I did break, or can break any records, but that I would like to represent my country."

As Georgia has no national Olympic Committee to certify to Prince David's amateur standing, the French Committee does not know what to do.
