The Precursor

Dr. Otto Wiedfeldt, German Ambassador at Washington, inspected the Albert Ballin, Germany's largest merchant marine ship, before she sailed from New York to Hamburg. After saying goodbye to Frau Wiedfeldt, who is going to Germany for a visit, the Ambassador said the ship was " the precursor of a new German Merchant Marine to replace the one destroyed by the World War."
